What a beautifully written book.
That’s the first thought that came to mind upon finishing Ann Voskamp’s One Thousand Gifts.
Not just the poetic style of her writing, but the insightful nature of her message.
It brought me on a journey from the state of assumption, complacency, and ingratitude to the country of joy, awareness, and appreciation. After walking with Ann Voskamp through her pilgrimage towards gratitude, I found that my own journey down the same road had begun.
Reminds of me a Peter Mayer song.

In recent years, I have had a mantra.
I believe in mantras, because I believe that our thought patterns have the capacity to powerfully influence and determine the path our lives.
For me, a mantra is a simple way of taming my thought patterns.
I use my mantra when I notice my thoughts to be negative, painful, or in any way not related to the vision I have for my life. I use it during times of meditation, extreme physical labor, or quiet moments during mundane tasks.
I believe that the thoughts that echo through your mind most will have the greatest impact on your reality. I also believe that among the most effective ways to intensify the power of a thought is to speak it.
